Christian Gammill has devoted his career to the innovation economy, ranging from his early days as a chemist at a startup in big pharma (acq by Eurofins) to his time building a multi-billion dollar innovation model at IBM, to his current role as a thematic venture investor.

He has invested in a breadth of themes, including Food/Ag/RestaurantTech with Chipotle at Cultivate Next, Industrial Transformation at Industrious Ventures (where he invested in Pod Foods), and Future of Media/Enterprise at Technicolor Ventures. He is also founder of Nextwave X Partners a firm focused on investing in innovation across a multitude of industries.

He is an ardent supporter of a diverse set of founders including at Bear Flag Robotics (acq John Deere), KitCRM (acq by Shopify), Vessel.io (acq by Marketo/Adobe), Lightwell (acq by Twitter), Gainspeed (acq by Nokia), MileZero (acq by Capstone Logistics), LeadFormix (acq by CaldusCloud/SAP), Ultravisual (acq by Flipboard) as well as founders at some of today’s most interesting startups like Pod Foods, Flowspace, Paystand, Stoke Space, Hydrosat, Hyphen, Meati and numerous others.

He has also had the honor of investing in venture franchises ranging from $10B AUM to <$10m incl Greenspring Associates (acq by StepStone), Top Tier Capital Partners, Bullpen Capital, Progression Fund, FreeFlow Ventures, Brilliant Ventures, as well as serving as an advisor to a handful of first time fund managers.

In addition to investing in early stage startups, Christian has extensive experience in industry, kicked off by a run at IBM where he focused on data modeling and industry innovation, including a leadership role in the policy-based National Innovation Initiative, a precursor to the America COMPETES Act, which was later signed into law. His award-winning data modeling work found him speaking regularly at University of Michigan, MIT, Harvard, UCLA, Esomar World Congress, and more, as well as briefing C-suites execs at IBM key relationships (incl Home Depot, Walmart, UPS, to name a few).

He has continued to serve as a trusted advisor for large enterprises, including companies like Technicolor, JB HiFi (Australias Best Buy), JD Power, Eli Lilly, Coca Cola, iRobot, XPRIZE, etc. He has conducted business around the globe (Africa, Dubai, Japan, China, India, France, Mexico, Chile, Australia and a few more).
